In aftermath of Hurricane Michael neighbors lend helping hand

By Lila Gross

(WFLA) – Reports of unbelievable damage from the panhandle and beyond continue to roll in, but so do stories of neighbors helping each other.

These are some of the moments during Hurricane Michael that are going viral.

Panama City Beach saw some of the worst destruction from this fierce storm.

These photos were taken this morning before crews could even reach the beach town to begin assessing the damage.

Neighborhoods in Georgia had their own set of issues.

Tree limbs were blown everywhere in open backyards caused families to become stuck in their homes.

But the neighbors in Albany, Georgia worked together to clear a path.. One even packed a chainsaw.

And for everyone else, the good news is help is on the way.

Linemen from all over have begun their journey up to the panhandle and beyond to get the power turned back on.

In this video from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office you can just see how many heroic folks are ready to lend a helping hand.
