Bay Area police break up party with up to 400 people at short-term rental

The Santa Rosa Police Department said it shut down a massive party thrown by people from Southern California at a short-term rental in the Fountaingrove area on Wednesday night, sending a message that the city is serious about enforcing short-term rental rules that limit the number of guests who can attend gatherings.

The police department said it received calls from residents and the property manager, asking for deputies to clear out the party on the 3900 block of Flintridge Drive.

At the scene, officers said they found at least 100 cars parked on the street and 300 to 400 people pouring in and out of the residence. Food vendors, a DJ, a photo booth and a large bar were all part of the festivities, police said.
