Whether to license North Augusta’s short-term rentals could be subject of future study

Just 5 miles separate downtown North Augusta from Augusta National Golf Club.

And every year, for that one week in April – Masters Week – the world’s golf aficionados, celebrity enthusiasts, curiosity-seekers, et al. descend on the area, many arriving for the first practice rounds and then packing up by the next Monday, leaving no trace of their having temporarily swelled the population.

But for all that activity and for all the quick dollars made at North Augusta’s private homes-turned-rentals during Masters Week (or during Peach Jam week), the city of North Augusta has nothing in place to regulate them.
