Ocean City extends short-term rentals moratorium through January 2027

The short-term rental debate is far from over in Ocean City, Maryland.

Mayor Rick Meehan and Town Council members have now extended the plan to prohibit new rental licenses in some single-family neighborhoods.

The moratorium on short-term rentals will now extend through January 2027, as announced during a Monday, Dec. 1, Town Council meeting.

The limits were initially set to expire in January 2026.
