City Council creates Quarry District Fund for Northeast Parma neighborhood

PARMA, Ohio — After watching other parts of Parma, such as the Ukrainian Village and Polish Village, create civic pride through branding, Ward 4 City Councilwoman Kristin Saban is following suit in the Quarry District — the intersection of Broadview and Snow roads.

Last week, City Council approved the creation of a Midtown Quarry District Fund. This includes a $35,000 donation from Midtown Parma Acquisitions, which is currently spending $8.5 million to transform Midtown Plaza into Quarry Square.

“We’re going to use that money to brand that area with some signage and just to give it its own identity,” Saban said. “It’s really been exciting, because the residents and businesses over there are really starting to embrace it with all of the changes that have been happening and with the plaza almost completed.”

The Quarry District is located in both Ward 4 and Ward 9.
