TMZ reports that Meek Mill will be announcing that he’ll be renovating a basketball court at East Fairmount Park in North Philly. The park Meek chose to renovate holds a special place in his heart since it’s in the neighborhood he grew up in.
“North Philly will always be home. When kids go to East Fairmount Park, they deserve to ball in the best conditions possible, so I’m glad they’ll have that opportunity now.” He said.
The rapper teamed up with Puma and Roc Nation to repaint and revamp the court. Puma recently announced that they’ll be re-entering the basketball market so the move to help a local Philly court only makes sense. The rapper is expected to announce his plans to renovate the park in the next few days.
Aside from his plans to give back, the rapper recently revealed that his new album would be out “in a matter of weeks.” He hasn’t confirmed a release date, but he did that it is a “surprise album” so expect to see that project hit streaming services in the near future.
