Detroit neighborhood uses $100K grant to turn rundown area into a playscape

By Fox 2 Detroit Staff

 – A local non-profit is calling on the community to help transform another Detroit neighborhood with the construction of a brand new playground.

Pastor Robert King of Harvest Christian Church says squatters moved into the area of 7 Mile and Telegraph, stripped the houses, and it became a home for drugs and prostitution.

Grand Seven Detroit, or G7D, is making it a mission to buy houses, evacuate them and make it into a park. So they applied and received a $100,000 KaBOOM grant.
