The Situation

Utah is known for its beautiful landscapes, outdoor sports, growing business community, national parks and so much more. The reasons Utah is an attractive place for visitors are the same reasons families have chosen to make Utah their lifelong home. Of course, it’s critical that leaders balance the needs of Utah’s tourism industry with the needs of long-term residents. This means that lawmakers must address the growing issue of quickly-proliferating, unregulated short-term rentals in the state – many of which are causing disturbances and draining local resources in communities.

Lawmakers must continue to examine appropriate short-term rental regulations that account for the interests of both tourists and local communities.

Legislative Initiatives

ASC has actively participated in Utah’s legislative landscape, focusing on short-term rental regulation bills in recent years. We will continue to keep you updated on the latest developments related to any short-term rental legislation that could impact Utah neighborhoods.
