Portland Airbnb host shot, wounded; police take renter into custody

A 21-year-old man is facing an attempted murder allegation after police say he fired a gun multiple times, striking his Airbnb host in the chest Wednesday night in Northeast Portland’s King neighborhood.

The victim, a woman whom police did not identify, was seriously injured but is expected to survive, Portland police said Thursday.

Caveion L. Lett is facing accusations of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon, court records show. His bail is set at over $500,000.
