Gentilly residents get Wellness Center in their neighborhood

By Louisiana Weekly Staff

Residents in the Gentilly area of the city now have a Community Wellness Center available to them.

Located in the Gentilly Shopping Center, the Center was opened by AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana and provides access to health and wellness resources.

Not only can residents obtain benefit information, care management services, and assistance scheduling transportation, but they will also have access to computer workstations, a benefits bank, and a mobile cooktop to be used for cooking demonstrations and nutritional workshops.

“Opening a second Community Wellness Center is further evidence of how we’ve become part of the fabric of the communities we serve,” said AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana Market President Kyle Viator. “This facility will be a valuable resource hub for our local members and the community as a whole, supporting residents of New Orleans and connecting them to important to programs and services. We look forward to working together to create healthier neighborhoods throughout this wonderful city.”

The center will be open to the public Mondays between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and the third Saturday of each month between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
